Hi there! It’s a privilege to be one of the most recent additions to the Tabor team, coming on Board as a Lecturer in Ministry Practice and in partnership with Baptist Churches of South Australia, where I oversee Accredited Ministry Formation.

One of the hopes of our partnership with Tabor is to make early connections and build relationships with students thinking about vocational ministry; this being with “Baptist connected” students of course - although I’m always up for a chat with any and every one!  That’s because the truth is that I’m endlessly fascinated by (most) human beings, also…easily distracted, and a lover of new experiences including this one!

This is probably why my own vocational journey has taken me far and wide on this earth; I’ve explored life as a youth pastor, truck driver, school teacher, bartender, shelter manager for folks experiencing homelessness, and most recently serving as the Lead Pastor for the King’s Community in leafy Golden Grove –  which is near where I live with my beautiful Canadian wife Rochelle, our brood of 3 dual citizens, a neurotic kelpie and, like they all do, a cat who struggles with his identity.

I studied for an M.A. in Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky,  where I nurtured a (continuing) passion for understanding the relationship between belief and practice, and the ways that sacred texts play a role in the formation of individual and community imagination. I’m currently on the hunt for a PhD supervisor to continue to this area of enquiry in the near future...

I look forward to having a chat!

Grace and peace!
