I have always been passionate about Home Economics subjects, choosing Child Studies, Textiles, Nutrition and Food throughout my high schooling. My teaching journey began with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary Food & Textiles Technologies), and I have been fortunate to teach across Independent, Catholic and Department schools.
Alongside teaching, I am an active member of the Home Economics Institute of Australia (HEIA), and previously a Committee of Management member for the South Australian hub, delivering professional development workshops for educators across SA and NT.
My last six years have been with an incredible team at Brighton Secondary School. Teaching is so rewarding because Home Economics provides a space where creativity and fluidity are embraced, enabling students to develop lifelong skills through hands‑on, adaptable, and authentic learning experiences.
