    Managing Stress and Anxiety

Most people feel stressed or anxious now and then. However, when anxious feelings occur for no apparent reason, don’t go away or start affecting our ability to cope with everyday tasks, then it may be the sign of an anxiety condition. Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia. The sooner people with anxiety seek help, the quicker they can learn to manage their anxiety and recover.  A GP can provide appropriate advice, strategies and medication (if needed). A GP can also provide you with a Mental Health Plan which lets you claim up to 10 sessions with a psychologist or mental health social worker each calendar year: If they bulk bill you won’t have to pay anything. Or you will be charged the Medicare gap which is normally a lot cheaper than the full fee. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/subjects/whats-covered-medicare/mental-health-care-and-medicare
