Sustainable and organic farm life was how I grew up. We ate meat, fruit and vegetables and even honey, all produced on the land. Mom made big breakfasts and lunches (we were back from school by 2 pm). We were encouraged to cook dinners at night and during holidays to give mom a break. My parents encouraged me to develop skills in different crafts.I showed an interest in sewing at the age of 10. Dad worked with a plan and asked mom to buy me lots of fabric and no clothes. Thus I was forced into making clothes for myself. Fortunately I loved it and got many compliments along the way for my creations. That led me to study a Bachelor of Home Economics, majoring in clothing and interior. As soon as I got married I started a bespoke fashion business. It worked well since I travelled extensively with my engineer husband and could always run my business, even working part-time between having kids. As a mature age student, I completed a Master of Teaching degree. I absolutely love my career and currently teach Home Economics at Brighton Secondary School. It is so rewarding because it is creative, practical and fluid.

you, for you to flourish and become the brilliant teacher you dream to be.
Willy Gollan
My name is Willy Gollan and my background is as a Primary teacher in State, Catholic and Christian schools. During my years of teaching, my approach to teaching and learning has changed over time.
I come from being a classroom teacher who has a desire to see that students are able to access learning. My hope is that the work we do this semester will encourage you as you start on the path to becoming a teacher and the beginning of a lifetime of learning.
It is also my desire, hopefully, to “set you up” for success as you start your teaching career.

Tracey Price
As the Executive Dean, Faculties, I oversee the Education faulty and the Humanities & Social Science faculty. I am also Chair of the Scholarship Committee, which focuses on teaching & learning in the college. What I love most is my work as a Senior Lecturer in Pedagogy, in Spirituality and in Ethics subjects. I love teaching and consider it a privilege and great responsibility to teach teachers! I believe in the transforming power of enabling students to think critically and reflectively, and to accept personal and educational challenge; as T.S Eliot famously said, 'Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go!

Lauren Witchard
Hi! I'm very excited to be teaching English in the Education faculty in 2024. I am a Tabor graduate who has taught in Mount Gambier and McLaren Vale, in both public and private systems, and have taught all streams of Senior English, Media Studies and History. My teaching experience has included roles as an English co-ordinator, Year 12 co-ordinator, Key Media Teacher and a SACE moderator and marker for Stage 2 Media Studies. I am passionate about literature and film, and love sharing this passion with my students through energetic discussions. The world is a better place when we embrace the stories that shape and reflect it, and come to know the many perspectives through which they can be seen while understanding the language that shapes and portrays meaning. When I'm not being overly excited about texts, I love music, food and wine, animals (especially my dog Ringo), heated political discussions, playing with my daughter and binge-watching Netflix.
Yianni Cartledge
