Sam Smith
Sam has been teaching within the
Counselling team at Tabor for the past ten years, and is the
Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences.
After completing
both undergraduate (Bachelor of Social Science - Counselling -
2010) and postgraduate training (Master of Counselling Practice -
2014) at Tabor, Sam operates as a private counsellor and has
completed postgraduate training in Acceptance & Commitment
Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and is currently a
Provisional PhD Candidate at Edith Cowan
University.
Since graduating, Sam has also worked in a number of different
counselling contexts in the human services sector. These
roles have given her experience counselling a broad range of
people from many different walks of life, and utilising various
counselling modalities and interventions.
Kathryn Law
Kat graduated from her Bachelor of Applied Social Science
(Counselling) in 2017 and her Masters in Counselling Practice in
2020. Previously, Kat has worked as a Pastoral Care Worker in
schools, a Counselor for a suicide prevention & aftercare
program, and a School Counselor & Wellbeing Coordinator. She
now runs a full time online therapy private practice, focusing on
body image, identity, trauma and anxiety. Kat has always loved
academia and is passionate about helping students engage with the
learning process so they can become confident and successful
professionals in the workforce.
Alea Losch
I completed my Bachelor's Degree, Honour's Degree, Master's
Degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology. I am passionate about
learning and sharing knowledge with others. I have been working
in clinical practice for the past 6 years, mainly working in
private practice. I have a special interest in the field of
trauma.
Rina Schalkwyk
I currently work as a part time counsellor for Victim Support
Service in the Redress Support Team. I support adult
survivors of child sexual abuse manage the Redress Scheme with
practical and therapeutic support. I also work as a trainer
for Blue Knot Foundation whilst continuing general counselling in
private practice.
I use a variety of modalities in practice as guided by client
need and have a specific and keen interest in neuroscience.
I have completed a Master's in Counselling Practice at Tabor in
2015
